Terms of Service
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms cover the Speaking Stick website and the Speaking Stick Discord bot (together, “the service”). By using the service, you agree to them.
Using the service
Speaking Stick is free to use and is currently in beta. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to use online services where you live. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Be respectful
When using the service, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other people.
- Share illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
- Record other people without their permission where the law requires it.
- Join rooms you weren't invited to in order to disrupt them.
- Try to break, overload, or get around the service's limits, including the muting.
Hosts and server admins
Whoever starts a room is its host and can remove people from it. Hosts and Discord server admins are responsible for who they invite and for how sessions in their spaces are run. When you use the Discord bot, Discord's own terms also apply, and server admins choose which permissions to give the bot.
What we can't promise
We work hard to make the stick reliable, but the service depends on other providers and is offered “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Calls may drop and the bot may sometimes be offline. Don't rely on Speaking Stick for emergencies or for conversations that must stay confidential.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service.
Changes and ending use
We may change, pause, or stop the service, and may block access for anyone who breaks these terms. If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
